A Bit About Karen
Hello! I'm Karen. Welcome to my blog! Don't be fooled by my name - I'm far from the stereo-typical, 'demand to speak to your manager' Karen. I'm one of the cool ones. I swear.
I've journaled off and on since I learned how to hold a crayon, but as I've aged I've come to realize that writing allows me to reflect on and process the experiences in my day-to-day life in a way that I don't typcially do without stopping to put pen to paper (or more commonly, fingertips to keyboard keys). It also helps me to be more present to the world around me, and frankly, that makes me feel more alive.
So what can you expect to see here? Mostly just my reflections on life. I'm not one to get political or controversial or super negative. Quite the oppositve, in fact. I frequently write about things for which I'm grateful -- not as a means of bragging about my amazingly magnificent life, but as a means of recognizing the hidden blessings that occur every day in my run-of-the-mill, ordinary, often boring life.
A Few Karen Fun Facts:

-
I'm fiercely competitive when it comes to board games, card games and door prizes
-
I love music and I pretty much always have a tune in my head and a song in my heart.
-
I hopped more hops than anyone in my preschool class in our MDA hop-a-thon and got to be on TV for the Jerry Lewis Labor Day telethon. I thought I was pretty hot stuff.
-
I'm a Midwest girl who moved to Arizona on a whim and a prayer over 20 years ago. I love Arizona, but I'm really proud to have grown up as a Midwesterner.
