Today I am thankful for late night motivation.

8:30 p.m. on a Sunday night is never a good time to start a project. And yet, tonight is not the first time in my life (heck, not even the first time this month) that I’ve saved my spurt of weekend motivation for late on a Sunday night.

Tonight’s project – assembling patio furniture. I ordered this table and chair set about 2 ½ months ago. Getting it delivered proved to be quite the fiasco, but about 4 weeks ago I came home one night to a pallet of boxes in the middle of my driveway. They were quite heavy, but I was able to push them into my garage and still manage to park my car in there. After about 2 weeks in the garage, the boxes made it into my house. I figured if I had to look at the boxes in my dining room each day that I’d be more likely to put the dang things together. I did get a start on it about a week and a half ago, but I gave up fairly easily and then became pretty complacent about walking past the big furniture boxes in my house each day.

Well, I’m not sure why, but tonight was the night that my furniture assembly motivation finally kicked in. Maybe it was my failed attempt at yard work yesterday that prompted my need to accomplish something patio related. Maybe it’s the promise of cooler weather on the horizon. Or maybe I was just tired of looking at the boxes. I’m not quite sure what kicked my butt into gear tonight, but I’m glad to have my patio furniture all put together and I can’t wait to eat breakfast at my new table tomorrow morning.
