I did a thing today. Or more accurately, I finished a thing today.

Organizing my closet has been on my to-do list for what seems like forever. I’m a pretty organized person and my closet has been driving me crazy for months and months. It was loosely organized by article type and color, but I was long overdue for a good sorting/purging session. I almost did it back when the Marie Kondo KonMari method was all the rage on Netflix But, I didn’t. Then I almost did it again when the world shut down in March. But, I didn’t. During fall break this October I went so far as to buy some closet organization stuff – a new shoe rack, some baskets, and some hanging shelves. But the project waited until this weekend.
I’ve been working on it gradually over the past couple of days, but today I was all in and was determined to finish. I’m very pleased with how it turned out. I have a huge donation pile ready to go, and I now have a beautifully color coded, seasonally sorted closet. It almost makes me eager to put away the load of laundry sitting in my dryer right now. Almost.
