Today I am thankful for the coffee I had at the beginning of my day and for the coffee I had at the end of my day.

My church has a 24 hour adoration chapel. You will find someone praying in the chapel at all times. All are welcome at any time, but there is someone scheduled to be there at all hours of day and night, every day of the week.
When I started my job at my current school, I signed up for an hour – every week, early on Tuesday mornings. I was all about starting new healthy habits along with the new job, so I was eager to volunteer. I love my adoration hour and each week I’m amazed at how easy it is to wake up to my early Tuesday morning alarm. I know good things await me.
After my time in the chapel, I head over to the church office to see my dear, dear friend Julie. She works there. And, she comes in early on Tuesdays. We have a cup of coffee together and then I head on over to my school, which is conveniently just up the street.
My Tuesday mornings rock. I affectionately refer to them as ‘Jesus and Julie’ mornings. I don’t know what I did before this wonderful tradition was born, but I’m certain there was a void there – both spiritually and socially.
Today started with Jesus and Julie, just as all Tuesdays do. The coffee hit the spot, but company was even better.
It was a bit of a crazy day today, but it ended just as wonderfully as it began. Twice a month, I meet with a small faith-sharing group. We pray together and share with each other about our lives and our journeys in faith. Sometimes I have a lot to share and sometimes I have a little to share, but I always leave feeling inspired and loved. It’s an amazing group of women and I’m so very fortunate to have them in my life.

Tonight we sipped coffee and sat around a fake fire place while we talked and prayed. And just like this morning, the coffee hit the spot, but the company was even better.
They say that you’re supposed to surround yourself with people that make you want to be a better person. How wonderfully blessed my day was that I was able to start and end my day in such a way.
