Today I’m grateful for a wavering voice.

Today I had the honor of singing at the wedding of a beautiful young couple. The wedding ceremony was gorgeous and the church was full of love and support for these sweet newlyweds.
There were many meaningful moments during their wedding Mass, but my favorite was, without a doubt, the moment when the groom began his vows. His voice cracked and then wavered a bit, as he tearfully promised his bride that he’d love and honor her until death do they part.

The raw emotion in the exchange of their vows was beautiful. There was a vulnerability in that moment that we don’t often experience in day-to-day life. I felt humbled to be a part of it and moved to be a witness to it all.
Tonight as I reflect on my day, it’s that particular moment for which I’m most thankful. I pray that this newlywed couple has a life of love and abundant blessings ahead of them, and I’m grateful to have been witness to this moment of sweet vulnerability. It left me touched and inspired.
