If you read my post from Wednesday, you know that my crockpot gave out. I was getting ready to try a new pork chop recipe when the crockpot began to smoke. Well, it turns out that this was only part 1 of that story. Here’s the rest.

My friend Millie messaged me on Wednesday after hearing about my crockpot mishap. She told me that she had an extra crockpot in need of a home. We’re talking a brand new crockpot, still in the box. She wanted to know if I wanted it. Millie used to be the secretary at the school where I work. She took such good care of the staff, always doing extra things to make life easier for everyone. She’s been retired for several years now, but she’s still clearly looking out for her people.

Millie wouldn’t let me give her anything for the crockpot and even delivered it to me on Friday before work. It doesn’t get much more generous than that!

So today, thanks to Millie’s kindness, I used my new crockpot to make the pork chops I didn’t get to enjoy earlier this week. They were delicious! And, I have plenty of leftovers, which means I will be grateful for this all week long!
