Today I’m grateful for it all.

When I first sat down to write tonight, I got a little stressed. I actually put my laptop away and scrolled on Instagram for an hour (cuz that always helps everything, right?) before opening it back up again. Why the stress? Because I was having trouble deciding what to write about tonight. Typically, when I reflect back on my day there’s something particular that pops out as an obvious blessing to write about. Today, not so much.

Don’t read that wrong, though. It was a fabulous day. In fact there were a bunch of blessed moments that made me incredibly grateful today … such that I couldn’t really pick one over another.

So today I’m deciding to be grateful for all of those moments. There are too many to share them all here, but here are a few to give you a little taste of my day.

1. I’m thankful for frothy coffee with mom while we watched the parade.

2. I’m thankful to have solved WORDLE in 2 tries, for the second day in a row.

3. I’m thankful for the smell of turkey in the oven that permeated through the whole house.

4. I’m thankful for texts of gratitude and Thanksgiving wishes from dear friends.

5. I’m thankful for a delicious Thanksgiving meal, home cooked by my mom. I’ve been dreaming of this meal since I booked my ticket home, and it most definitely did not disappoint.

6. I’m thankful for the sharing of stories – old and new.

7. I’m thankful for a Cyclone’s win in both men’s and women’s basketball. I’m also thankful that the men didn’t have to go to double overtime, because I don’t think any of us could have handled that stress.

8. I’m thankful for cocktail hour on the porch.

9. I’m thankful to have spent a calm, relaxing day with my awesome parents. It was just what I needed.

10. I’m thankful to be heading to bed with a full belly and a full heart.

Today was a great day. Who says I have to pick one blessing? This is my Attitude of Gratitude journal. I can make the rules. And today I choose to be thankful for it all.
