Today I’m grateful for straight edged lamination.

I try not to bring work home from school. It happens sometimes, but I try not to. I ended up bringing some home this weekend though. I’m going to be out on Tuesday, so I need to write sub plans and get a few things prepped for my substitute. Did I get it done this weekend? No. Will I have to scramble a bit more tomorrow now? Yes.
Oh well.
In addition to my sub plans, I also brought home some lamination to cut out. We’re having a veggie tasting feast tomorrow in Kindergarten and I needed to cut out the laminated placemats that the kids made on Friday. About 9 p.m. tonight I realized that I hadn’t done that either.

I couldn’t bear the thought of lugging all my work back to school tomorrow, completely untouched (although I have certainly done that before) so I sucked it up and tackled the lamination. It took about 10 minutes, tops. I actually kind of like cutting out laminated items, especially straight edged ones like these placemats. I like when I can open the scissors and just slide them down the seam of the paper without having to snip, snip, snip my way down the edge. Plus I did it in front of the Chief’s game, so it was practically like I wasn’t working at all.
I feel a little better about tomorrow, having done at least one of the tasks I intended to do this weekend. Hooray for work I can do, pretty much effortlessly, in 10 minutes in front of the TV. If I have to bring work home, this is the way to go.
