Today I’m thankful for the little slider bar on my alarm clock app.

I’ve been going hard for the past month. Really hard.

That’s not a complaint. I’m actually really thankful for this crazy busy month. When the pandemic began and the world shut down, I wasn’t one of those people happily baking banana bread, learning to knit, and enjoying not driving my car. I didn’t mind a few days of downtime, but after I finished watching Tiger King and I purged my closet, I was going stir crazy. I was longing for the days when my calendar would be jam packed with work and choir and retreats and happy hours and all sorts of stuff again. So I don’t dare complain now that my calendar is full again.

But that doesn’t mean I’m not tired. This girl is pooped.

I worked yesterday and today, but I’m off for the rest of the week. Tonight, when I turned off all my alarms for the next several days, I was borderline giddy. I am definitely looking forward to five glorious days of waking up without an alarm clock, leisurely drinking coffee on my patio, doing a few little projects around the house, spending time with family, and wearing my pajamas as much as possible. Who knows – I may even watch the new season of Tiger King that was just released.

I’m thankful to have the next few days off to relax and recharge. I will hit the ground running again next week when the slider bar on my alarm gets slid back the other way, but for now… I will soak up every minute of my restful, relaxing long weekend.
