Today I’m thankful for the sunrise and the sunset.

Today was … meh.

Not great. Not terrible. Just meh.

I left work pretty much as soon as the students were dismissed. I was ready to declare today over and call for a do-over tomorrow. I was tired and borderline crabby.

Fast forward a few hours, and check out this glorious sunset that we had tonight. This picture doesn’t even do it a smidge of justice. I almost missed it, but thankfully I went to take the trash out at the perfect moment to catch this gorgeously painted sky. I saw the sunrise this morning as well. While the sky wasn’t quite as vivid as it was tonight, it was beautiful nonetheless.

Some days are great. Some days are terrible. And some days are just meh. But the awesome sunrise and sunset that bookended my day today served as a reminder to me that each new day is a gift and there is beauty to behold – even amidst the meh.

So today, I’m consciously choosing to be thankful for it all – the beauty, the crabbiness, and all the ‘meh’ in between.
