Today I'm thankful for two shades of rock in my backyard.

Two shades of rock in my backyard means that some of the rock got wet!!! After a 42 million day drought in Phoenix, it rained tonight! Each time I was outside today the sky got grayer. It was a beautiful, overcast and slightly cooler day. We don’t get many of those in Arizona, so that in itself is something to get excited about.
But, tonight as I was getting ready for bed and I went to close and lock the patio door, I smelled it. I’d been hoping for that smell all day long – the glorious smell of fresh fallen rain. Of course I went outside and stood in the middle of it to take it in.
Now, if I’m going to be totally honest, it was more of a sprinkle than rain. And it probably only lasted about 7 minutes. My clothes hardly even got wet, even though I was standing in the middle of my backyard. I’m positive that my Iowa relatives wouldn’t even count this as rain. But my backyard rock got wet and I smelled the smell, so I’m counting it.
There’s a chance we’ll get some more in the next few days, and believe me – I’m here for it!
